Local elections in Ukraine scheduled for October 25
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that local elections will be held with certain restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Elections are scheduled for October 25th.
This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.
Zelensky also noted that it is necessary to think over mechanisms, procedures and funding in order to secure and allow Ukrainians to vote freely.
In turn, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov drew attention to ensuring a sufficient number of those who will keep order during the voting, especially after the adoption of bills requiring more law enforcement officers in the elections.
