If the People’s Deputy from «European Solidarity» Sofia Fedina was a member of the European Parliament, then after such statements, as in the case of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, she would be immediately detained by law enforcement officers. Such an opinion in a commentary to the publication «GORDON» was expressed by the people’s deputy from «Servants of the People» Alexander Kachura.
The people’s deputy from «Servants of the people» Oleksandr Kachura in a commentary to the publication «GORDON» announced the threats he received because of the statement he had filed with the Prosecutor General and the State Bureau of Investigation of the MP from «European Solidarity» Sophia Fedina after her statements to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
«I filed four statements regarding the statements of Fedina — to the Prosecutor General, the State Security Service, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And today my lawyer said that the proceedings are already registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. My statement is about the commission of a crime. There is a fact that two persons, one of of which I’m a MP, they posted a video calling for the assassination of the president. I see signs of a criminal offense in this, so I notified law enforcement agencies that they understand and give a legal assessment. I’ve been a lawyer before disputes relating to the protection of honor and business reputation. There is a difference between a value judgment and a factual statement. I see signs of a factual statement, «said the People’s Deputy.
In his opinion, if Fedina had been a member of the European Parliament, she would have been immediately detained after such statements.
“As I understand it, the investigation will have to initiate a linguistic examination to establish that it’s just a conversation or a call through the media for physical reprisals against the president. We have a legal state. There can be no indulgences for breaking the law for individuals. We must stop this phenomenon in Ukraine when people threaten each other with murder. I examined the EU criminal law, they could be sentenced to 5-10 years of imprisonment for such statements. If Fedina was a deputy of, say, the European Parliament, she would immediately be detained or after such statements. From today I receive a lot of threats. Mostly they write on Facebook. In addition, today on the street when I was walking to the Kiev Hotel, a young man came up to me and said: «You filed an application with Fedina, if you don’t take it, we will undermine you. «I’ll see a couple of days what will happen next, and I will turn to law enforcement agencies to ensure safety for me and my family,» Kachura emphasized.
