It is proposed that the Verkhovna Rada be considered the Independence Day of Ukraine on January 22, 1918, and August 24, 1991 — the Day of Independence.
The corresponding draft resolution No. 2205 was registered by the people’s deputy of Ukraine Oksana Savchuk.
In her opinion, January 22 should be considered Independence Day of Ukraine and annually celebrate it as a public holiday.
To consider the independence of the Ukrainian state from January 22, 1918, from the day of the proclamation of the IV Universal of the Central Rada of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, which restored the national statehood of the Ukrainian nation.
At the same time, the parliamentarian proposed August 24, 1991 to be considered the Day of Restoration of Independence of Ukraine and annually celebrate it as a public holiday.
