The meeting of the chairmen of the parliamentary factions of the parliament was organized completely online.
Most Verkhovna Rada factions opposed the imposition of a state of emergency in Ukraine in connection with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. This is stated in the message of the deputy chairman of the faction Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak, which was conveyed to reporters by the press secretary of the Voice Yarema Duh, Ukrainian truth informs on Monday, March 23.
It is alleged that several issues were discussed, including the agenda of an extraordinary plenary meeting, which is still being formed. Deputies also discussed the attitude of the factions towards the imposition of a state of emergency. Most factions strongly opposed the imposition of a state of emergency.
The third issue under discussion is the formation of bills to be adopted at an extraordinary meeting and the adoption format — the meeting format and voting format.
«An extraordinary meeting of the Rada may take place this week. The agenda is coordinated,» the statement said.
According to Zheleznyak, the meeting of the chairmen of the parliamentary factions was organized completely online. All these issues were discussed, the final decision has not yet been made.
He noted that «all representatives of factions and groups were as constructive as possible and acted as one team» and this was «a good example of how the state apparatus and business should work in quarantine.»
