Inna Sovsun noted on her Facebook page that the draft state budget for the next year, approved by the parliament on first reading, does not provide for an increase in teachers’ salaries. According to the chosen one, representing the Golos party in the 9th convocation Rada, earlier the budget cabinet rejected the proposal to increase budget expenses on teacher remuneration by 5.1 billion hryvnia, replyua.net reports.
Inna Sovsun emphasized that the draft state budget for 2020, approved by the parliament on first reading, does not provide for an increase in teachers’ salaries. As explained by the chosen one, earlier members of the budget cabinet rejected the proposal to increase the costs of teachers by 5.1 billion hryvnia.
Sovsun emphasized that it was planned to direct these funds to raising salaries for the categories of Ukrainian teachers that are the least protected today — young teachers and kindergarten teachers. The MP also recalled the words of Anna Novosad — the head of the Ministry of Education had previously suggested that teachers’ salaries be financed from local budgets. According to Sovsun, these words indicate the absence of an understandable and clear plan for resolving the issue of remuneration of pedagogical workers — both in the mono-majority, and in the Cabinet of Ministers.
