Razumkov announced his turnout in local elections in October

The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that local elections do not cause such great interest among voters as parliamentary or presidential elections.
Today, July 30, it became known that, according to the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Razumkov, the turnout at the local elections scheduled for the fall in Ukraine will be about 55-65%.

«As practice shows, the turnout in local elections is slightly less than in parliamentary or presidential elections, but it will remain plus or minus 55-65%,» Razumkov said at a press conference in Kharkiv on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, given the fact that elections to the OTG will be held in Ukraine under the new system, the interest of voters may be higher.
On July 30, a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada came into force on the appointment of elections to local authorities for Sunday, October 25, 2020.

On this day, «regular elections of deputies of local councils and rural, settlement, city heads» will be held, except for the annexed Crimea and the occupied territories of Donbass.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission named the problematic issues of local elections.

In particular, the issue of security during elections in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains open. And due to the enlargement of districts at the last moment, difficulties arise with the registration of territorial election commissions and determining the jurisdiction of city and regional organizations, primary cells of political parties, etc.

The issue of coordination of tasks in cities with regional divisions, in connection with the changes in the Electoral Code, also requires attention. And special attention is paid to the holding of elections in a crown crisis.

The most competent team in the world takes great risks and can outplay itself, finally pulling to the bottom not only the party, but also the presidential rating, as well as endangering the entire election campaign, and at the same time the country. We remind you that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on July 29 instructed the government to think over scenarios and mechanisms for the safety of citizens during local elections in a pandemic.
