Former President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk said that local elections in the territories of Donbass occupied by Russia are impossible until the Ukrainian government is established there.
He said this on one of the Ukrainian TV channels, informs UNN.
“We must prove that we cannot hold elections in Donbass when there is no Ukrainian government there,” the first president of Ukraine said.
Kravchuk noted that for the elections to be held, it is necessary to create safe conditions for citizens and remove the militants from power, and after them «organize life.»
In his opinion, if the Russian Federation does not recognize itself as a party to the military conflict in Donbas, let it withdraw its troops from there.
On July 30, Leonid Kravchuk was invited to the President’s Office. Probably, they plan to discuss with him the possibility of appointing the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG in Minsk.
Recall that the reason for Leonid Kuchma’s departure from TCG became known earlier. She became old age. Kuchma will turn 82 in 2020.
